do not fundamentally alter the school's academic programs, and <br />are not of a personal nature. <br />CAMPUS CRIME & SECURITY <br />SCIT publishes an Annual Security Report by October V of each <br />year in compliances with the requirements of the Jeanne Clary <br />Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics <br />Act of 1988 ("Clary Act"). The most recent SCIT Annual Security <br />Report may be found on the schools webslte at <br />https://www.scltech.edu/campus/crime. The Annual Security <br />Report contains information in regards to campus security policies <br />and procedures, which includes policies related to alcohol, drugs <br />and weapons, and sexual misconduct. Students are required to <br />follow all policies and procedures as stated in the schools most <br />recently published Annual Security Report. <br />DRUG FREE SCHOOL <br />SCIT forbids the use, possession, distribution or sale of drugs or <br />alcohol by students, faculty or staff anywhere on college property <br />or at college sponsored events off campus. Anyone in violation of <br />state, federal or other local regulations, with respect to illegal <br />drugs or alcohol, may be subject to both criminal prosecution and <br />disciplinary action. Students should refer to the schools most <br />recently published Annual Security Report for the schools policies <br />and procedures in regards to alcohol and drugs. <br />STUDENT PROPERTY <br />No personal property or other property may be brought to the <br />school for repair, troubleshooting or any other reason. SCIT <br />assumes no responsibility for lost property. <br />LOST & FOUND <br />Any Student items that are lost or stolen on college property are <br />the responsibility of the student. The college does not take any <br />responsibility for lost or stolen items. Any lost items found should <br />be taken to the Student Services Office where it will be placed in <br />"Lost & Found." Items in the "Lost & Found" are held for a <br />maximum of two (2) weeks at which point they may be donated <br />or destroyed. <br />UNAUTHORIZED GUESTS <br />Students are not allowed to bring any unauthorized guests onto <br />the premises without approval from the Student Services Office. <br />Unauthorized guests include, but are not limited to: children, <br />family members, friends, and/or co-workers. <br />Student Affairs <br />STUDENT COMPLAINT & GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br />Any student wishing to resolve a problem or wishing to register a <br />complaint should first contact his/her instructor. If the problem Is <br />not resolved, the student should contact the Student Services <br />Office. If the problem is still unresolved, the student may submit <br />a written complaint to the President of SCIT. <br />Schools accredited by the Accrediting Commission or Career <br />Schools and Colleges must have a procedure and operational plan <br />for handling students' complaints. If a student does not feel that <br />the school has adequately addressed a complaint or concern, the <br />student may consider contacting the Accrediting Commission. All <br />complaints reviewed by the Commission must be in written form <br />and should grant permission for the Commission to forward a <br />copy of the complaint to the school for a response. This can be <br />accomplished by filing the ACCSC Complaint Form.
