To learn <br />BIOMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY <br />more, visit www.onetcenter.org. <br />The program primarily provides training for the following O"NET <br />AWARD.............................................................................DIPLOMA <br />SOC Occupation: <br />PROGRAM LENGTH ..................................... 35 WEEKS (8 MONTHS) <br />QUARTER CREDIT UNITS .................................................... 44 UNITS <br />CLOCK HOURS............................................................... 720 HOURS <br />EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OBJECTIVES & PROGRAM <br />DESCRIPTION <br />The goal of the Biomedical Technology Diploma program is to <br />prepare graduates for employment as entry-level biomedical <br />equipment technicians. Students are trained to troubleshoot, <br />maintain and repair electronic based medical equipment. The <br />educational program objectives are as follows: <br />1. Obtain entry-level employment in fields related to <br />medical equipment repair or maintenance. <br />2. Effectively function as a team member in technical <br />environments. <br />STUDENT OUTCOMES <br />The student outcomes of the Biomedical Technology Diploma are <br />for its graduates to attain the following: <br />a. Knowledge and understanding of fundamental <br />electronic components and basic electronic circuitry. <br />b. A general understanding of medical equipment and the <br />contexts In which they are used. <br />C. An ability to identify, diagnose and troubleshoot <br />electronic based devices. <br />d. An ability to use techniques, skills and modern <br />technical tools to repair medical equipment. <br />e. An ability to function as team members In a technical <br />environment. <br />MODE OF PROGRAM DELIVERY <br />This program is delivered in either a residential or a distance <br />learning modality. Students decide which modality to complete <br />the program at the time of enrollment contingent on program <br />availability. When delivered in a residential modality, courses are <br />delivered primarily at the campus with some courses having an <br />asynchronous didactic learning component integrated into the <br />curriculum (I.e. online materials to support the courses residential <br />delivery). When delivered in a distance learning modality, all <br />courses are delivered online. Courses delivered online utilize both <br />asynchronous and synchronous methods. The school reserves the <br />right to change the mode of delivery for any course if necessary, <br />including the extent to which asynchronous and synchronous <br />Instructional methods are utilized for delivery through distance <br />learning.
