CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH <br />CAMEO HIGHLANDS STREET <br />RECONSTRUCTION <br />Newport Beach, CA <br />Psomas was retained to lead a multi -disciplined <br />team to develop a plan for street reconstruction <br />within the Cameo Highlands neighborhood in <br />the City of Newport Beach. The project's scope <br />consisted of reconstructing the existing asphalt <br />roadway, reconstructing deteriorated concrete <br />flatwork, completing ADA improvements in the <br />project limits, adjusting utilities to grade, installing <br />street signs, and pavement striping. <br />Psomas and the pavement design expert <br />performed value engineering to develop flexible <br />pavement design alternatives and submitted <br />a pavement report for City staff for review and <br />consideration. <br />Psomas provided civil engineering, surveying, <br />and project management services for <br />development of the street and ADA improvements, <br />ensuring proper drainage was maintained, and <br />provided wet utility mapping and horizontal control <br />of the project. <br />REFERENCE: Patricia Carpenter <br />Associate Civil Engineer 1949.644.3344 <br />pcarpenter@newportbeachca.gov <br />YEAR COMPLETED: 2021 <br />LIDO VILLAGE PIPELINE <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Newport Beach, CA <br />The City of Newport Beach Public Works <br />Department wished to replace older (1930s and <br />1940s), deteriorated cast iron water mains identified <br />in its most current water master plan. The project <br />was located in the Lido Village area of the City and <br />included design and construction of approximately <br />6,500 feet of water main. There were about <br />2,000 feet of 4-inch, 1,500 feet of 6-inch, 2,800 feet <br />of 8-inch, and 250 feet of 10-inch main that were <br />upsized by one diameter inch and replaced. <br />The project was generally located on the northeast <br />side of the Balboa peninsula in the City of Newport <br />Beach known as Lido Village. A portion of this <br />project also included replacement of about 800 LF <br />of 8-inch sewer main design along Via Oporto. <br />There was one location in particular that was to <br />be upsized where a current site development was <br />occurring.
