SCOPE OF SERVICES
The City intends to retain consultants on an on -call basis to perform
professional services for a variety of engineering related projects. The
projects may include water and sewer infrastructure design and rehabilitation
improvements; storm drain improvements; sidewalks, bike paths, curb and
gutter replacement; slurry seal of residential streets; repair and overlay of
asphalt concrete and/or PCC streets; signing, striping, neighborhood traffic
studies, and traffic signal modifications; landscaping and irrigation systems;
park and recreational design; grant application wr16g; and other related
projects as required. On occasion, environmental and planning support
services may also be requested. The City may require consultant services for
mapping and legal description preparation, construction management, and
construction staking and inspection. Occasionally, the City may also require
geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering services, as
well as other specific infrastructure related services.
Psomas professionals will provide in-house services for civil and mechanical
engineering, surveying, environmental, and construction management.
Psomas will retain subconsultants for all other scope of service tasks listed in
the RFP.
ISI: Envision Sustainability Rating System
We commend the City's continued efforts and commitment in regard to
implementation of sustainable projects. As a founding member of the Institute
for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) and key player in the development of ISI's
Envision rating system, Psomas has over 80 professionals credentialed as
ENV SPs (Envision Sustainability Professionals). Maira Salcedo, PE, ENV
SP, Psomas' Project Manager for the Walnut Pump Station Upgrade, was
responsible for submitting this project for an Envision rating and, ultimately,
obtaining a bronze level award. Maira is also responsible for submitting the
Well 29 Rehabilitation project for an Envision award.
We look forward to assisting the City in any future efforts to construct
sustainable infrastructure projects and nominating them for potential Envision
awards. While not all projects will be appropriate for an Envision rating, Psomas
endeavors to incorporate sustainable elements in every infrastructure project
we plan or design. In order to demonstrate our approach to responding to a
task order request from the City of Santa Ana, we have provided the following
sample scope of services and schedule for a sewer replacement project.
