assurance that the student will return on the <br />scheduled returned date. <br />5. An Intent to Return cannot be granted in a <br />student's first didactic module unless the <br />student requests a reasonable <br />accommodation under the Americans with <br />Disabilities Act (ADA). <br />6. Upon approval of and during the Intent to <br />Return period, the school does not assess <br />the student any additional institutional <br />charges, the student's need may not <br />increase, and the student is not eligible for <br />any additional Federal Student Aid. <br />7. The school must provide an explanation to <br />the student, prior to granting the Intent to <br />Return, regarding the effects that the <br />student's failure to return from an Intent to <br />Return may have on the student's loan <br />repayment terms, including the expiration of <br />the student's grace period. <br />8. Students must return on a module start date <br />of a module needed for graduation. <br />Exception: Intent to Return does not apply to <br />those students on externship or expected to <br />start externship. <br />9. Student must be physically present in class <br />when attendance was taken. For the online <br />portion of Hybrid programs and the Online <br />programs, students are marked present <br />upon completion of an academic activity. <br />10. Existing Financial Obligations remain in <br />effect during an Intent to Return period. <br />11. Students who fail to return to class on their <br />scheduled Intent to Return returned date are <br />dropped from the program. <br />12. An Intent to Return may be extended if a <br />written request is received on or prior to the <br />scheduled return date and it does not extend <br />past the 45 calendar days after the end of <br />the module the student ceased attending. <br />Re -admission Policy <br />A student who has withdrawn or has been <br />terminated may apply for re -admission by <br />contacting the Director of Education. The school <br />reserves the right to refuse re -admittance based <br />upon the attendance, academic, and conduct <br />history of the student during previous enrollment <br />periods. Students who apply for re-entry Into the <br />same program may do so within 18 months from <br />their last date of attendance and will be given <br />credit for any class that was successfully <br />completed. A student re-entering the school over <br />18 months from their last date of attendance may <br />be required to repeat the entire program. <br />W <br />Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) <br />To be eligible for graduation, a student must <br />successfully complete and pass all modules and <br />achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 by the time <br />he/she completes the program. To be considered <br />making satisfactory academic progress (SAP) <br />toward graduation, a student must maintain a <br />minimum cumulative grade point average and <br />progress at a specified rate in order to complete <br />the program within Maximum Time Frame (MTF) <br />equal to 150 percent of the published program <br />length. <br />Satisfactory Academic Progress is measured <br />according to an SAP evaluation schedule as <br />specified in the Required Completion Rate charts <br />included in this policy. SAP evaluation process <br />and procedures for remediation are outlined in <br />the following section of the policy. <br />Academic Advisement <br />Academic advising is provided to students <br />throughout their program, based on individual <br />needs. All Ability to Benefit ("ATB") students are <br />required to attend advising sessions during their <br />program. Students not meeting Satisfactory <br />Academic Progress ("SAP") requirements must <br />attend advising sessions until they improve their <br />academic progress or are withdrawn from the <br />College. <br />Grading System <br />UEI College grading scale in effect for modules <br />starting on or after 9/26/2022: <br />96-100 <br />A <br />4.0 <br />90-95 <br />A- <br />3.7 <br />87-89 <br />B+ <br />3.3 <br />83-86 <br />B <br />3.0 <br />80-82 <br />B- <br />2.7 <br />76-79 <br />C+ <br />2.3 <br />70-75 <br />C <br />2.0 <br />66-69 <br />C- <br />1.7 <br />63-65 <br />D+ <br />1.3 <br />60-62 <br />D <br />1.0 <br />0-59 <br />F <br />0 <br />Students who do not achieve a letter grade of <br />"D+" or better in any module are considered to <br />have failed that module and must repeat it. <br />When students repeat a failed module, the <br />original grade will be replaced by the new grade <br />which will then be calculated into the cumulative <br />GPA. Until the module is repeated, the "F" grade <br />will remain in the student's cumulative GPA and <br />will be included in the assessment of <br />Satisfactory Academic Progress ("SAP"). <br />
