<br />human body. The human body is an amazing
<br />compilation of biological structures that carry out at[ the
<br />functions required to maintain life. In this course, you
<br />wilt begin to learn about the structures of the human
<br />body and explore the ways in which these structures
<br />enable the body to function. In doing so, the muscular,
<br />skeletal, nervous, sensory and endocrine systems will
<br />be investigated. This course also requires an on -ground
<br />wet lab component.

<br />functions required to maintain life. This is the second of
<br />two courses that covers the organization of the body
<br />and the anatomy and physiology of various body
<br />systems, such as, the circulatory, cardiovascular,
<br />Lymphatic, immunity, digestive, respiratory, urinary, and
<br />reproductive systems. This course also requires an on -
<br />ground wet Lab component.

<br />BIOL1431: Microbiology with Wet Lab

<br />In this course, students learn a branch of biology
<br />dealing with microscopic forms of life. They will learn
<br />how microorganisms on humans can be both beneficial
<br />and harmful. Students will have an insight on different
<br />viruses and how they affect humans, the environment
<br />and the future of genetics. Laboratory is three hours per
<br />week.

<br />principles. Topics will include atomic and molecular
<br />structures, states of matter, stoichiometry of reactions,
<br />equilibrium systems, chemical thermodynamics,
<br />electrochemistry, periodic properties, and the chemistry
<br />of transition elements. This course also requires an on -
<br />ground wet lab component.

<br />In this course, the student will learn basic concepts
<br />related to organic and biochemistry. Topics will include
<br />spectroscopy, nomenclature, properties and synthesis
<br />of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alkyl halides,
<br />alcohols, carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids, lipids,
<br />amino acids, nucleotide metabolic pathways, and the
<br />structure and function of nucleic acids. This course also
<br />includes a wet lab component.
