Counseling, Treatment or Rehabilitation <br />Programs <br />The administration of Concorde maintains a list of <br />hospital and community agencies available to assist <br />employees and students seeking alcohol and drug <br />counseling and treatment. <br />Employees and students who have a substance - <br />dependency problem are strongly encouraged to <br />obtain counseling and treatment. Anyone seeking <br />additional information about health problems and <br />treatment related to alcohol and drug problems can <br />contact the Campus President or Human Resources. <br />Requests for assistance will be held in complete <br />confidentiality and will be provided on a need -to -know <br />basis only, <br />Penalties <br />A student suspected of the possession, sale, <br />manufacture, use, or distribution of a controlled <br />substance, may be suspended from the student's <br />program of study during the Investigation and may <br />become ineligible for continued participation in the <br />Higher Education Act (HEA), Title IV Student Assistance <br />Programs, If convicted, the student's relationship with <br />Concorde will be terminated, and the student may lose <br />the ability to participate in the HEA, Title IV Student <br />Assistance Programs, <br />A student who violates any provision of this policy shall <br />be subject to appropriate disciplinary action to include <br />dismissal from Concorde. A student who is dismissed is <br />not eligible for readmission, <br />In addition, any student or employee who violates the <br />standards of conduct as set forth In this policy may be <br />subject to referral for prosecution. <br />Health Requirements <br />Health Services <br />The school does not provide health services on campus <br />other than making available immunizations at <br />scheduled times. <br />Immunizations: Clinical/externship sites require <br />various vaccinations prior to participation in a <br />clinical/externship rotation, Concorde offers these <br />immunizations during on -campus health clinics at <br />no cost. The immunization requirements are based <br />on general requirements for working in a <br />healthcare setting and may change without notice. <br />If students are unavailable during scheduled <br />immunization times, it is the students' <br />responsibility to ensure compliance with <br />immunization requirements at their own cost, If a <br />student declines any of these Immunizations, <br />Concorde cannot guarantee placement at a <br />clinical/externship site. In these cases, the student <br />may be required to complete additional health <br />facility -specific documentation, including waivers. <br />Under no conditions can Concorde guarantee <br />employment, <br />Health Insurance Coverage: The externship/ <br />clinical sites do not provide health Insurance <br />coverage for students, All students are covered by <br />accident and liability Insurance policies while In <br />school or on clinical rotation. This policy does not <br />automatically pay for all medical expenses due to <br />school -related accidents. It is designed to work <br />together with the insurance the student may <br />already have, A student is required to meet with <br />the Program Director regarding the processing of a <br />claim. None of the programs provide health <br />insurance as part of the tuition fee. Health <br />insurance is the sole responsibility of the student. <br />Health Conditions: It is the responsibility of the <br />student to inform the appropriate instructor(s) of <br />any physical or mental condition that could <br />Interfere with the safety of the student and/or <br />patient while at the externship/clinical site. <br />While ill, it is the responsibility of the student to notify <br />the Program Director, the Director of Clinical Education <br />(DCE)/Clinical Instructor/Extern Coordinator and the <br />externship/clinical site. Students are not permitted to <br />attend class or clinical with a communicable disease. <br />General Information <br />Accessibilitv for Disabilities <br />The buildings are designed to be accessible to the <br />disabled. Spaces are clearly marked and are reserved <br />for disabled students, staff, and faculty. Cars parked in <br />these designated areas without the proper identification <br />will be towed. <br />Cellular Phones <br />Students may not use cell phones for personal reasons <br />in the classroom unless approved by the instructor, <br />Commencement Ceremonies <br />To be considered a Concorde graduate, students are <br />required to successfully complete all program <br />requirements, This Includes all phases of their didactic <br />training as well as their externship and/or clinical <br />education. <br />Participation in commencement ceremonies does not <br />constitute official graduation. All requirements as stated <br />in the school catalog must be fulfilled prior to <br />conferment of graduate status.
