VN 150. Medical/Surgical4, Pediatrics, Leadership <br />& Mental Health <br />8.5 credits <br />This course gives the student the opportunity to apply the <br />concepts of nursing process, growth and development, client <br />education, and leadership & supervision in the clients with <br />complex needs across the life span. Neurologic, and sensory <br />disorders are also covered. Care of clients with mental health <br />needs is also discussed. <br />VN 150-C. Medical/Surgical4, Pediatrics, <br />Leadership & Mental Health Clinical <br />4 credits <br />This course is the practical application of care concepts for <br />clients with complex needs across the life span with <br />emphasis on nursing leadership and mental health needs of <br />clients. <br />VN 220. American Medical Corpsman and Medics <br />Transition to Vocational Nurse <br />3 credits <br />This course is designed as a dynamic review of the content <br />covered in the NCLEX-PN, the exam for the California <br />licensed vocational nurse. Through weekly review and <br />discussion students will master content including the human <br />lifespan development, health promotion and disease <br />prevention, foundations of mental health, management of <br />care, safety and patient basic care, pharmacology and IV <br />therapies, monitoring health problems, and physiological <br />health problems. Students will be given the opportunity to <br />learn the blueprint of the NCLEX-PN and test taking <br />strategies for success.
