Orozco, Norma
From: William Beaubeaux <
Sent: Thursday, August 10, 2023 3:48 PM
To: eComment; Ridge, Kristine
Subject: The Historic Ficus Tree
Good afternoon Honorable Mayor and City Council,
It has come to my attention that we are at risk of losing the largest Historic Ficus Tree to parking spaces at the
city library. This would be a tragic loss to our citizens as well as the nesting site for several species of
birds. Santa Ana is a bird sanctuary city and destroying their home for additional parking stalls would be
devastating. Please rethink this plan. Please do not sacrifice this tree for parking spaces. Our city is proud to be
designated as a tree city, and a walkable city; the last thing we need is to destroy history, and destroy the
sanctuary for birds for parking. This plan is ridiculous and needs your help to stop this potential tragedy.
Thank you for your consideration
William Beaubeaux,NCARB

i
