Adopt a resolution affirming positive evaluation results and approving an adjusted <br />annual salary for the City Manager, and <br />2. Take formal action by majority vote of the City Council to not extend the City <br />Manager’s Employment Agreement for one additional year. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana City Charter provides that the City Council shall conduct <br />evaluations of its appointees, including the City Manager, on an annual basis. In <br />addition, City Manager Kristine Ridge’s Employment Agreement provides for an annual <br />performance evaluation by the City Council and opportunity for consideration of <br />compensation adjustments based upon a positive evaluation. The City Council <br />conducted a performance evaluation of City Manager Ridge on August 1, 2023 and <br />received a positive performance evaluation. <br />As a result of the August 1, 2023 performance evaluation, the City Council supported an <br />increase of three percent (3%), totaling $319,967 annually, effective July 1, 2022. The <br />proposed resolution affirms the positive performance evaluation results and approves <br />an adjusted annual salary for the City Manager (Exhibit 1). <br />In addition, the City Council affirms its desire to not extend City Manager’s Employment <br />Agreement for one additional year. The remaining term of the Employment Agreement <br />shall end on April 30, 2026.
