2022-2025 MOU City of Santa Ana & SEIU Full-Time Employees Unit Page 19 <br />ARTICLE V <br />5.0 ASSIGNMENT & OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br />5.1 Assignment Pay Differential <br />A. Calculation of Pay Differential <br />Assignment pay differentials, as listed herein and throughout the MOU, will, in <br />each case, be added individually and separately to the employee’s base salary. In <br />no event shall one (1) assignment pay differential be added to the employee’s base <br />salary as a basis for the calculation of an additional pay differential. <br />B. Eligibility <br />Employees who were eligible for, assigned, and received assignment pay under this <br />section prior to June 30, 2013, shall continue to receive said pay under the current <br />assignment formulas provided they continue to meet the qualifications described in <br />the applicable assignment pay provisions of this article. <br />Employees hired after August 31, 2010, or hired before August 31, 2010, who did <br />not receive assignment pay under this section prior to June 30, 2013, shall not be <br />eligible to receive it. <br />C. Fleet Services <br />1. Automotive Service Excellence <br />Incumbents in the classifications of Fleet Services Technician I, II and III who <br />possess nationally recognized certifications for Automotive Service Excellence <br />Master Certification (ASE) and ASE Alternative Fuel will be paid an <br />assignment pay differential at a rate set five (5) salary rate ranges, which is <br />approximately two and one-half percent (2.5%) for each of the certifications, <br />above their base monthly salary step. Effective January 1, 2023, the assignment <br />pay differential in this provision shall be approximately two and one-half <br />percent (2.5%) for each of the certifications, above their base monthly salary <br />step. <br />The restrictions set forth in Section 5.1B do not apply to this provision. <br />2. Fire Certification <br />The City and the SEIU 721 agree to meet and confer to discuss the addition of <br />Fire Certifications if the City agrees to enter into any agreement in which they <br />service Fire Department vehicles.
