f % Johnson -Frank & Associates, Inc. <br />On -Call Construction Surveying Services RFP No. 19-090 <br />Santa Ana Public Works Agency <br />We will adhere to City, County, and State standards and fonrnats so that our Corner Records <br />conform to any said standards that may exist. <br />Horizontal and Vertical Control: <br />Provide permanent control points for topographic or construction surveys. <br />Establish coordinates for control points using California Coordinate System 1983, Zone VI, 2007 <br />Epoch, or other as requested by the City Project Manager. <br />Establish elevations for control points using the City of Santa Ana and Orange County Bench <br />Mark network and the North American Vertical Datum of 1988, or other as requested by the City <br />Project Manager. <br />Provide copies of field notes, and/or computer files showing raw results and any adjustments <br />("Star -Net" files). <br />Provide computer files compatible with AutoCAD Civil3D, or Trimble Business Center, <br />showing final adjusted coordinates (P,N,E,Z,D) for each control point. <br />Real Time Kinematic (RTK) methods of GPS surveying will NOT be accepted for the <br />establishment of horizontal or vertical control points. <br />We will adhere to the City, or County, control system, as directed by the City Project Manager, <br />and provide control deliverables in digital format. <br />Control work is another area within which we have a superior level of experience and <br />knowledge. We have performed geodetic control for numerous public agencies, including the <br />City of Irvine, the Los Angeles District Corps of Engineers, the Southwest Division, US Naval <br />Facilities Engineering Command, the California Spatial Reference Center, and directly for the <br />National Geodetic Survey. We have performed everything from traditional horizontal control <br />prior to the advent of GPS, to high precision horizontal GPS, and even assisted the National <br />Geodetic Survey in developing standards for performing high precision Vertical GPS surveys. <br />Map Checking Understanding / Scope: <br />In general, all map checking follows a similar work flow. Unlike many standard surveying <br />procedures, map checking always follows a checklist. This ensures that all items with which a <br />particular agency or jurisdiction is concerned are adequately reviewed, and that no critical items <br />are overlooked. In general the checking process goes as follows: <br />• The process starts at the top of the title sheet, where items such as the date of the survey, the <br />tract number, and acreages are checked. The next step is to check the legal description of the <br />property and ensure that it matches the title report provided. Then on to dedications and <br />5150 E.
