Fire Alarm System Devices Upgrade, Testing, Inspection, and Repair Services <br />May 2, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />1 <br />2 <br />•One year warranty of the parts and labor for all new installed devices, as well as <br />an additional four years warranty on the parts <br />HCI is also a California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) vendor for fire alarm system, <br />installation, maintenance, and repair through June 26, 2023. Their CMAS number is 4- <br />20-07-0101A and utilizing this CMAS vendor streamlines the process in determining <br />that the prices are fair, reasonable, and competitive. <br />Additionally, HCI currently provides annual, semi-annual, and quarterly fire sprinkler <br />system inspections, fire alarm system test, fire pump inspection, kitchen hood <br />inspection, etc. to maintain and repair the existing systems in compliance with the <br />National Fire Protection Association standard 25. These testing and inspection services <br />have been provided in the past with a blanket order contract under $25,000. The Police <br />Department proposes to formalize a multi-year agreement to include these services as <br />part of the same agreement. <br />The agreement includes the following services for the period of May 2, 2023 through <br />June 30, 2026: <br />•$729,972 for the Fire Alarm System Devices Upgrade Project at both buildings <br />•$ 60,980 for the Annual inspection and testing services <br />•$ 46,840 for the Five-Year Fire Sprinkler inspection and repair services <br />•$ 40,000 for contingency for any necessary repairs or additional work (also <br />includes services provided during the period of January 1, 2023 through end of <br />the contract period) <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the Fire Alarm System Devices Upgrade Project were approved as a carry <br />forward to the FY 22-23 budget and are available for expenditure as shown below. The <br />funds for the inspection, testing, and repair services are available in the FY 22-23 <br />budget and funding for subsequent fiscal years will be included in the proposed budgets <br />for City Council consideration.
