The project involved <br />modifications to the existing Unity Pro PLC program to convert from serial Modbus <br />communications to Ethernet based Modbus TCP/IP to gather emissions data for air quality <br />compliance. Responsibilities included PLC programming, network design. Worked in coordination <br />with engine controls contractor to perform onsite implementation and startup processes. <br />• J.R. Simplot Nitric Acid Plant Controls Rehabilitation <br />Project Engineer on contracts valued at $1.5 million to upgrade the controls system at J.R. <br />Simplot's nitric acid plant in California. The upgrades required significant reverse engineering and <br />rehabilitation of the 1/0 and PLC systems comprising of approximately 350 1/0 points and 14 <br />legacy distributed RTUs. Performed design and commissioning efforts to provide 1 new master <br />PLC panel and 4 remote 1/0 panels based on Allen Bradley Controllogix 5000, Flex 1/0 and <br />ControlNet. Developed ControlLogix 5000 PLC code and associated CitectSCADA revisions as <br />legacy PLCs were decommissioned.
