Before starting Work, the CONTRACTOR shall submit to the CITY: • Number of apprentices or trainees to be trained for each classification • Training program to be used • Training starting date for each classification The CONTRACTOR shall obtain the CITY's approval for this submitted information before the CONTRACTOR starts Work. The CITY credits the CONTRACTOR for each apprentice or trainee the CONTRACTOR employs on the Work who is currently enrolled or becomes enrolled in an approved program. The primary objective of this section is to train and upgrade minorities and women toward journeyman status. The CONTRACTOR shall make every effort to enroll minority and women apprentices or trainees, such as conducting systematic and direct recruitment through public and private sources likely to yield
