(Requirement §201.6(c)(4)(i)) <br />A: See Monitoring and Implementing the Plan below. <br /> <br />Monitoring and Implementing the Plan <br />Plan Adoption <br />The City Council will be responsible for adopting the Mitigation Plan. This governing body has <br />the authority to promote sound public policy regarding hazards. Once the plan has been adopted, <br />the Local Mitigation Officer will be responsible for submitting it to the State Hazard Mitigation <br />Officer at California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). Cal OES will then submit the plan <br />to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review and approval. This review <br />will address the requirements set forth in 44 C.F.R. Section 201.6 (Local Mitigation Plans). Upon <br />acceptance by FEMA, the City will gain eligibility for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds. <br /> <br />Local Mitigation Officer <br />The Planning Team that was involved in research and writing of the Plan will also be responsible <br />for implementation. The Planning Team will be led by the Planning Team Chair Steve Rhyner <br />who will be referred to as the Local Mitigation Officer. Under the direction of the Local Mitigation <br />Officer, the Planning Team will take responsibility for plan maintenance and implementation.
