Inc. and Sierra Pacific Fence Inc. for a <br />Total Not To Exceed $2,500,000 for a Three-Year Term and Two One-Year Renewal <br />Options (Specification No. 22-058) (Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award blanket purchase order contracts for chain-link fencing and gate installation to J&A <br />Fence Engineering Corp., Quality Fence Co. Inc. and Sierra Pacific Fence Inc., for a <br />three-year period beginning July 1, 2022 and expiring June 30, 2025, with provisions for <br />two, one-year renewal options exercisable by the City Manager, in an annual aggregate <br />amount of $500,000, for a total amount not to exceed $2,500,000, subject to non- <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works’ Water Resources Division is responsible for maintaining the daily <br />operations of the water system and wastewater collections system. The City’s water <br />system has an estimated average demand of 30 million gallons (MG). It is comprised of <br />approximately 478 miles of water main, 45 MG of storage at five sites, seven Metropolitan <br />Water District connections, 21 groundwater wells, and seven pump stations. <br />Services provided under the chain-link fence and gate installation contract will allow staff <br />to establish security around the water system’s wells, reservoir stations, and water <br />facilities. The work shall consist of, but is not limited to, the removal and proper disposal <br />of fencing and the construction of fabricated industrial steel and/or chain link fencing at <br />various locations. Based on project repairs and improvements, staff recommends an <br />annual aggregate budget of $300,000 for water facilities and $200,000 for citywide on- <br />call services. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 4, 2022, on the City’s online bid <br />management and publication system.
