Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 44 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 21, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Agreement for Construction Management, Inspection Services, and <br />Improvements for the Well 29 Rehabilitation <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Approve Agreement with Cannon for Construction Management and Inspection Services <br />for Well 29 Rehabilitation Improvements in an Amount Not to Exceed $538,715 for a <br />Three -Year Term (Project No. 18-6491) (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Cannon to perform <br />Construction Management and Inspection Services for the Well 29 Rehabilitation <br />Improvements project in the amount of $489,741, with a contingency of $48,974 for a total <br />amount of $538,715, for a three-year term beginning June 21, 2022 and expiring June <br />20, 2025, with an option for two, one-year extensions, subject non -substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana Public Works Agency (City) desires to enter into an agreement <br />with a qualified consulting firm to provide construction management and inspection <br />services. The consultant shall provide general construction management services to <br />support construction efforts and assist in the overall delivery of this project, including pre - <br />construction tasks, managing construction and ensuring that the work is completed in <br />accordance with the contract documents, and project closeout and commissioning phase. <br />The consultant team will report directly to the City's project manager. <br />On December 8, 2021, the Public Works Agency released Request for Proposal (RFP) <br />No. 21-135, by which it sought the services of a qualified consulting firm to lead efforts to <br />provide construction management and inspection services. <br />The RFP was advertised on the City's online procurement management and publication <br />system, with Proposals due on March 15, 2022. Five proposals were received and <br />evaluated by a selection committee. Based on criteria outlined in the RFP, the following <br />summarizes the top three responding firms and their ranking. <br />
