Attachment A - Joint Agreement for 800 MHz CCCS <br />Page 37 of 83 <br />The Lead Agency Director is responsible for maintaining the security of and access to the <br />System keys. <br />4.5 Database Management <br />Purpose or Objective <br />Defines the aspects and assignment of responsibilities for managing the System's databases. <br />Technical Background <br />The management of the System and subsystem databases is assigned to Lead Agency staff with <br />responsibility for the various aspects of the System operations. <br />The databases contain information for the System and subsystems defining the operational <br />characteristics of: <br />• Subscriber Radios <br />• Radio Users <br />• Talkgroups <br />• Profiles for Radio Users and Talkgroups <br />• System portion of the fleet map programming <br />• System and Subsystem equipment operational parameters <br />• Security Group structures <br />• Login User accounts and privileges <br />The databases contain the operational personality of the entire System. Because of this critical <br />function, the data must be properly managed for System functionality and archived regularly in <br />case of data loss or corruption. <br />Operational Context <br />The System databases are partitioned to facilitate the distributed management of the data <br />contained in them. The database management responsibilities of the Lead Agency include the <br />following: <br />• The Lead Agency is responsible for maintaining and archiving copies of all radio <br />codeplug data and System databases. <br />• Database backups are made once per week and are stored "off -site" on a backed -up <br />server in the event of a disaster. <br />• Database restoration will be performed by trained technical staff and only in the event of <br />System software reloading and version changes, System database corruption, or as <br />defined in the Disaster Recovery Plan. <br />• Database restoration is performed when a non -critical condition exists and if approved <br />by the Lead Agency Director. <br />• The Lead Agency notifies agencies of any database issues that adversely impact their <br />normal operations. <br />Procedure <br />
