Corrective Maintenance or Repair Any maintenance activity which is required to correct a failure that has <br />occurred or is in the process of occurring. This activity may consist of repair, restoration, or replacement of <br />components. <br />Preventive Maintenance or PM an equipment maintenance strategy based on replacing, overhauling or <br />remanufacturing an item at a fixed interval, regardless of its condition at the time. Scheduled Restoration <br />tasks and Scheduled Discard tasks are both examples of Preventive Maintenance tasks. <br />Inspection Conformity evaluation by observation and judgment accompanied as appropriate by <br />measurement, testing or gaging. <br />Test Determination of one or more characteristics according to a procedure. <br />Defect Non -fulfilment of a requirement, related to an intended or specified use <br />Audit An audit is a systematic, independent, and documented process for: <br />1- Obtaining evidence and <br />2- Evaluating it objectively to determine the extent to which audit criteria are fulfilled. <br />Auditor Person with the competence to conduct an audit <br />Audit criteria Set of policies, procedures or requirements used as a reference <br />Audit Evidence Records, statements of fact or other information which are relevant to the audit criteria and <br />verifiable Audit Findings Audit Findings are the results of the evaluation of the collected audit Evidence <br />against audit Criteria which are: <br />• Conformity: Fulfillment of requirement <br />• Nonconformity: None -fulfillment of a requirement <br />Qualified Employee Who can demonstrate ability to apply knowledge and skills. <br />Training Need The difference between what the employee can do now and what they are required to do to <br />carry out their job effectively and efficiently <br />Training Survey A process of gathering information to determine whether there is a training need. <br />Training Needs Analysis A training needs analysis is the rnethod of determining if a training need exists <br />and if it does, what training is required - Employee Training Matrix (QMSF-309). <br />Training Effectiveness Evaluation To confirm that both organizational and training objectives have been <br />met, i.e, training has been effective. <br />Job Shop Production System A job shop is a type of manufacturing process in which small batches of a <br />variety of custom products are made. In the job shop process flow, most of the products require a unique <br />setup and sequencing of process steps. <br />
