2. At all times, the Western Exterminator Company property shall be secured with either <br />existing/proposed block walls, existing chain fencing, or with temporary construction <br />fencing with privacy slats. At all times, the Ricoh Company Property shall be secured <br />with either existing chain link fencing or with temporary construction fencing with <br />privacy slats. The Contractor will be required to provide access of any and all <br />emergency vehicles (police, paramedics and fire) within the public road and to <br />coordinate the access of refuse vehicles once a week within the work areas during the <br />full duration of the Contract. <br />3. The Contractor will be permitted to use the work area shown on the plans for its <br />construction operations. The Contractor shall acquire at their own expense, sites of <br />adequate size and access to facilitate the Contractor's own operations, storing and <br />staging of materials, equipment and personnel. The Contractor shall meet all condition <br />and requirements of the City. Expenses related to storage yards and staging areas <br />shall be included in the mobilization bid item. <br />4. The Contractor shall be responsible for securing the site to protect their property <br />from vandalism and loss and to protect the public from possible injury. <br />B. Maintain Operation of the Existing SA-7 Pressure Reducing Station <br />The existing SA-7 Pressure Reducing Station is a critical water facility for the City of Santa Ana and <br />will need to be operational throughout the construction period except for the time when the new <br />station is placed into service and the existing facility is taken out of service. Throughout <br />construction, the City will need to be able to operate and maintain the existing SA-7 facility. The <br />Contractor shall accommodate access to the existing site and facilities for routine operations and <br />maintenance. <br />The existing SA-7 facility shall remain in service while the construction of the new SA-7 pressure <br />reducing station is performed. Once the new SA-7 pressure reducing station construction is <br />completed and the facility has been successfully tested, the transition from the existing facility to <br />the new facility shall be performed. The existing SA-7 facility will be allowed to be taken out of <br />service for a maximum of seven consecutive calendar days and at the end of these seven days, <br />the new SA-7 pressure reducing station shall be placed into full time operation. It is the <br />Contractor's responsibility to provide advance notification to the City when this transfer of <br />facilities will take place. The City will require a minimum of three weeks advance notification of <br />this proposed shutdown of the existing SA-7 facility. <br />C. Schedule of Work <br />1. The schedule of work, except where otherwise specifically required by the <br />Plans and these Specifications, shall be determined by the Contractor who shall be <br />solely responsible for coordinating all subcontract and prime contract work to <br />minimize delays during construction. <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 21-066 <br />Page Al-6 <br />
