Task 1 - <br />Conduct the following Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Education Workshops/Classes to help increase the <br />knowledge and understanding of traffic safety by the residents of Santa Ana: <br />• Conduct 4 Bicycling Basics Classes in the City of Santa Ana. At least 1 of these classes will be <br />taught in Spanish. <br />• Conduct 4 Wrench and Ride Workshops in the City of Santa Ana. Classes will be taught in <br />English, Spanish or Vietnamese, as needed. <br />• Host 1 Build Your Own Skateboard Education Workshop. <br />• Organize and host a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Certification Seminar. <br />Task 2 - <br />Conduct the following activities for the Active Transportation Champions Cohort: Plan and deliver <br />meetings, training and a community roundtable to cultivate a cohort of 10-20 residents who will identify <br />and develop pedestrian and bicyclist safety education, encouragement and civic engagement activities <br />to strengthen and advance Santa Ana's existing safety infrastructure improvements and non - <br />infrastructure strategies: <br />• Walking and Biking Assessment - Organize 1 community -led Walking and Biking Sssessment or <br />collection of pedestrian/bicyclist counts. <br />• Action Planning Sessions - Conduct 2 Action Planning Sessions. Workshops will focus on <br />quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and crash data analysis for walking and biking. <br />• Stakeholder Engagement Meetings - Conduct 2 Stakeholder Engagement Meetings. <br />Enabling participants to share their active transportation experiences, concerns and needs with <br />key city stakeholders responsible for traffic safety improvements. <br />• Photo/Video Voice - Conduct 1 Photo/Voice and Video Voice training and project. <br />• Community Roundtable - Host 1 Community Roundtable. Enabling participants to share/present <br />what they've learned through the program with fellow residents and City staff. <br />Task 3 - <br />Conduct the following Community Encouragement Activities to support increase the use of active <br />transportation within the City of Santa Ana: <br />• Conduct 4 Family Cycling Education Classes in the City of Santa Ana. At least 2 of which will be <br />available in Spanish. <br />Conduct 4 iLuces Vivas! Events. To help encourage and provide education for walking and riding <br />safely at night. <br />Conduct/participate in 2 Pedestrian and Bicycle Traffic Safety Fairs. <br />Media Requirements <br />• Send all media advisories, alerts, videos, graphics, artwork, posters, radio/PSA/video scripts, <br />storyboards, digital and/or print educational materials for grant -related activities to the OTS PIO <br />at pio@ots.ca.gov for approval and copy your OTS coordinator. Optimum lead time would be 7 <br />days before the scheduled release but at least 3 business days prior to the scheduled release <br />date for review and approval is appreciated. <br />• If an OTS-supplied template, educational material, social media graphic, post or video is <br />substantially changed, the changes shall be sent to the OTS PIO at pio@ots.ca.gov for approval <br />and copy to your OTS Coordinator. Optimum lead time would be 7 days prior to the scheduled <br />release date, but at least 3 business days prior to the scheduled release date for review and <br />approval is appreciated. <br />• Press releases, social media posts and alerts on platforms such as NextDoor and Nixie reporting <br />immediate and time -sensitive grant activities (e.g. enforcement operations, day of event <br />highlights or announcements, event invites) are exempt from the OTS PIO approval process. The <br />OTS PIO and your Coordinator should still be notified when the grant -related activity is <br />happening (e.g. car seat checks, bicycle rodeos, community presentations, DUI checkpoints, <br />etc.). <br />• Enforcement activities such as warrant and probation sweeps, court stings, etc. that are <br />embargoed or could impact operations by publicizing in advance are exempt from the PIO <br />approval process.
