CITY OF SANTA ANA FY 21/22CIP <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WORKSHEET <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />The proposed improvements would include the widening of Fairview <br />Street with a cross section of 100' wide right-of-way and and will <br />include 3 lanes in each direction, raised median, Class II bike lane, <br />and 8' wide sidewalk with tree wells. Additionally, the proposed <br />improvements would entail widening of the Fairview Street Bridge, <br />relocation of existing utilities, including several power poles, street <br />lights, and partial acquisition of 2 parcels. <br />PROJECT NEED: <br />Fairview Street is currently a four-lane undivided arterial between 9th <br />Street and 16th Street. This segment of Fairview Street currently <br />carries 38,544 vehicles per day (VPD) and has a volume to capacity of <br />(V/C) ratio of 1.03. At this V/C ration, this roadway segment operates at <br />an unacceptable level of service. LOS F exists where the traffic stream <br />is extremely difficult.
