Requirements for Members of Board, Commissions, and Committees <br />March 2, 2021 <br />Page 2 <br />5 <br />0 <br />0 <br />would strengthen community engagement by eliminating barriers to participation and <br />encouraging more residents to apply for boards, commissions, and committees. <br />Of the existing 10 boards/commissions/committees, two advisory bodies—Youth <br />Commission and Measure X Citizens Oversight Committee—do not require members to <br />be qualified electors of the City of Santa Ana. The proposed ordinance (Exhibit 1) would <br />eliminate the qualified elector provisions of the remaining eight advisory bodies: Arts and <br />Culture Commission, Personnel Board, Community Development Commission, Planning <br />Commission, Environmental and Transportation Advisory Commission, Historic <br />Resources Commission, Workforce Development Board, and Board of Recreation and <br />Parks. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
