Grant
recipients are encouraged to utilize awards to rehabilitate existing infrastructure and to
address deficiencies in neighborhoods lacking access to the outdoors. The State of
California has calculated the amount for the City of Santa Ana to be $177,952. The next
step in the process to access these funds is to adopt a resolution approving the submittal
of an application for a project.
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is leveraging these funds with
CDBG and Cannabis Public Benefit funds for completion of the Santa Anita Park
Improvement Project (Phase II) (site plan attached). The scope of this project includes,
but is not limited to the following:
Expansion of the existing parking lot to the east to provide parking for the new
synthetic turf soccer field.
Removal of the handball court, basketball court, east play equipment area and
landscaping.
Construction of a new basketball court, south of the new parking lot
Enlargement of the existing west play equipment area to accommodate the
relocation of the east play equipment.
