I� yi � O Statistics for data analysis (3 credits) <br />This course teaches students about the statistics for data analysis in the business world. Students <br />will learn the statistics methods for business analysis, such as how random variables are used in <br />statistical models. Students also learn the latest technology, tools and how to best utilize the tool <br />to efficiently process and present data, get the insight from the data and enable business to make <br />the right decision quickly. It provides realistic examples, problem sets and cases for students to <br />internalize the strategy to overcome the real world challenges and equipped with methodology <br />and tools to quickly solve real world problems. <br />,M'13550 Project Management.(3 credits) <br />This course learns the Agile Project Management (APM) four focal points: opportunities created <br />by the agile revolution and its impact on product development, the values and principle that drive <br />agile project management, the specific practices that embody and amplify those principles, and <br />practices to help entire organizations. Today, the pace of project management moves faster. <br />Project management needs to become more flexible and far more responsive to customers. Using <br />Agile Project Management (APM), project managers can achieve all these goals without <br />compromising value, quality, or business discipline. This class integrates the practical project <br />management, product management, and software development practices into an overall <br />framework designed to support unprecedented speed and mobility. Special topics include <br />incorporating agile values, scaling agile projects, release planning, portfolio governance, and <br />enhancing organizational agility, <br />01 <br />x wF <br />S54eacership (3' credits) <br />This course teaches the students the awareness of their own strengths and opportunities for <br />improvement while gaining an understanding of the qualities essential to being an extraordinary <br />leader. By the end of the course, the students will have: Increased the understanding of what <br />distinguishes between more and less successful leaders and construct a plan for their own <br />development as a leader; sharpened their ability to diagnose situations and determine how then <br />can add value; gain experience and confidence in leadership situations, such as dealing with <br />difficult people and inspiring others to accomplish shared team and organizational goals; and <br />developed the ability to accept and leverage feedback and offer useful feedback to others. <br />This course covers the material that is essential to understanding a set of financial statements. <br />After taking this course, students will be able to read and understand the material in a financial <br />statement. This course will be organized around how companies run their businesses, especially <br />about financial reporting. The course will concentrate on how financial analysts use financial <br />statement information. This course will articulate the balance sheet, income statement and cash <br />flow statement; explain the effects of accounting changes, restatements, discontinued operations, <br />and extraordinary items.
