Alcala, Abigail
From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:
To Whom it May Concern:
Cheryl Harrington <
October 3, 2023 8:23 AM
eComment
Agenda Item #17 - 2230 N. Tustin Ave
I am writing this email in opposition to a gas station to be developed at the above -referenced address. I am a
concerned citizen/grandparent and wish to keep our area as safe as possible for our children and residents. There
is already a significant amount of gas stations in the surrounding area. The existing driveway on Santa Clara is
extremely close to the school driveway. In that the driveway is so close, major concerns are traffic especially when
taking and picking up children at school, notwithstanding the fact that kindergartners also attend. The potential
of accidents is a risk on any road but when young children are present one must act with a conscious
regard. Other concerns: the sale of alcohol, which is not needed in this vicinity as there are already
stores/markets that sell alcohol, emission issues and homelessness. We strive to keep our children safe and this
will only add to our worry/anxiety of keeping our children safe especially when drugs and mental issues can be
involved.
In my opinion, developers build to make money and create necessities for the public. I am not saying not to
build but have all the potential risks building next to a grammar school really been considered?
Please consider these concerns.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Harrington
