Proposed Work Plan <br />Project Overview: <br />The Community Development Agency and the Santa Ana Unified School District will partner to <br />implement the Graffiti Arts Program (GAP), which aims to provide high school students with an <br />opportunity to learn about mural painting techniques, public art, and local history. The program will <br />take place on the top floor of the 420 N. Main Street parking structure, beginning in June 2023, <br />Scope of Services: <br />The following services will be provided as part of the Graffiti Arts Program: <br />• Curriculum Development: Develop a curriculum that focuses on research, design, and <br />installation of large public art murals. The curriculum will be developed in collaboration <br />with the local professional mural artists who will be teaching the students. <br />• Student Recruitment and Selection: Conduct an application process to select 5-7 high <br />school students who are interested in learning about mural painting techniques and local <br />history. <br />• Professional Mural Artist Selection: Conduct an application process to select 5-7 local <br />professional mural artists, each specializing in a mural painting technique (portraiture, <br />lettering, tiling, etc.). <br />• Mural Painting Workshops: Facilitate a series of workshops where professional mural <br />artists will teach students about mural painting techniques, research, and design. The <br />workshops will take place over the course of the program and will culminate in the <br />installation of large public art morals on the top floor of the 420 N. Main Street parking <br />structure. <br />• Anti -Graffiti Coating: Cover the final products in an anti -graffiti coating to protect them <br />from both unwanted markings and UV rays. <br />Youth Outcomes: <br />The Graffiti Arts Program aims to achieve the following developmental youth outcomes: <br />• Improved artistic skills <br />• Increased knowledge of local history <br />
