GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No DISCUSSION The Public Works Agency’s Water Resources Division (Water Resources) oversees and maintains the daily operations of the water system and sanitary sewer system. The City’s water system is comprised of approximately 478 miles of water mains with the sewer system having approximately 390 miles of sewer mains serving 333,000 residents and businesses of the City of Santa Ana. The Water Resources Division is requesting to purchase 13 steel storage shipping containers to be utilized by various sections within the division. Water Resources relies on having specialty equipment, tools, and other items such as pipes, hydrants, and valves on hand for the repair and maintenance of the City’s water system infrastructure. The containers will be kept at various sites and provide a secure location for these items. Currently, the Water Resources Division is renting similar containers on a monthly basis. As the Division continues to utilize steel storage containers, purchasing these units will offer the most cost-effective solution. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 23-103 was advertised on July 3, 2023 and offers were solicited.
