Public Works Agency <br />https://www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 22 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />November 7, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of Ten Chevrolet Vehicles for Various City Departments <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Award Purchase Orders to Guaranty Chevrolet Motors, Inc. of Santa Ana and Penske <br />Chevrolet of Cerritos in an Aggregate Amount Not to Exceed $706,035 (Specification <br />No. 23-149) (General Fund and Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />1. Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Guaranty <br />Chevrolet Motors, Inc. for three Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and one Chevrolet <br />Silverado 1500 trucks, in the amount of $388,202, plus a contingency amount of <br />$20,000, for a total amount not to exceed $408,202, subject to non-substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br /> <br />2. Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Penske Chevrolet <br />of Cerritos for six Chevrolet Colorado trucks, in the amount of $277,833, plus a <br />contingency amount of $20,000, for a total amount not to exceed $297,833, subject <br />to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency’s (PWA) Parks, Fleet, and Facilities Division is responsible <br />for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and <br />maintenance equipment. With the assistance of the Fleet Services Team, various City <br />agencies have identified a need for additional vehicles and/or vehicle replacements as <br />follows: <br />•Two Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for the Police Department (PD) Crime Scene <br />Investigations (CSI) <br />•One Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for the Planning & Building Agency (PBA) <br />Animal Control <br />•One Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for PWA Refuse Enterprise <br />•Four Chevrolet Colorado Trucks for PWA Capital Improvement Program (CIP) <br />•One Chevrolet Colorado Truck for PWA Park Maintenance <br />•One Chevrolet Colorado Truck for the Community Development Agency (CDA)
