Approve Memorandum of Understanding and Appropriation Adjustment Accepting the FY 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Non -General Fund) Department(s): Police Department Recommended Action: 1. Authorize the City Manager and Chief of Police to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the County of Orange, Sheriffs Department accepting the 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $102,441, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney (Agreement No. 2023-026). 2. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $102,441 in the Law Enforcement Grants revenue account and appropriate same to the Byrne Justice Assistance expenditure accounts. (Requires five affirmative votes.) MINUTES: Mayor Amezcua inquired about the disbursement of the grant funds throughout the Santa Ana Police Department. Councilmember Vazquez inquired about the number of youths who are assisted through the Police Athletic Activities League (PAAL). Councilmember Penaloza spoke in support of PAAL. MOTION: Mayor Amezcua moved to approve the recommended action for Item No. 20, seconded by Councilmember Phan.
