FY 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant <br />November 21, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />3 <br />8 <br />7 <br />5 <br />two projects in support of the Department’s commitment to the Community Oriented <br />Policing philosophy to address public safety issues. <br />1. The first project will focus on targeted crime suppression activities. This project aims <br /> to improve and enhance the community's safety with outreach and proactive <br /> enforcement efforts to address violent crime and quality of life issues in specific <br /> targeted areas throughout the City on an overtime basis. <br />2. The second project will emphasize building community engagement through youth <br /> programming. This project will provide funds for the Santa Ana Police Athletic & <br /> Activity League (SAPAAL) program, providing additional resources for activities that <br /> enhance the bond between kids and cops.
