RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XXX entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL RECALL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2023, DECLARING THE RESULT, AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS MAY BE PROVIDED BY LAW GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No DISCUSSION Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter §1205 and Election Code §11240, the Santa Ana City Council called a Special Recall Election to be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 for the purpose of submitting a question to the voters of whether Jessie Lopez should be recalled (removed) from the office of Councilmember for Ward 3. On November 29, 2023, the Orange County Registrar of Voters certified the results of the canvass of the November 14, 2023 City of Santa Ana Special Recall Election. Elections Code §10262(a) requires the City Clerk, upon receipt of the results of the election from the Orange County Registrar of Voters, to certify the results to the governing body and pursuant to Elections Code §§10263 and 10264, the City Council must adopt a resolution reciting the fact of the election results. A total of 6,863 votes were cast in the November 14, 2023 Special Recall Election, with a majority of the votes on the recall voting "No."
