Walnut Street Urban Greening Project <br />December 19, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />3 <br />9 <br />2 <br />0 <br />On April 1, 2023, the City of Santa Ana Public Works Agency Parks, Fleet, and Facilities <br />Services Division submitted a grant application to the Clean California Local Grant <br />Program. The latest initiative provides funding to cities and local agencies to clean and <br />revitalize public places, enhance public health, cultural connection, and community <br />placemaking by improving public spaces for walking and recreation. On November 15, <br />2023, the State of California announced that grant application for the Walnut Street <br />Urban Greening project was awarded funding in the amount of $398,000, with no City <br />match requirement. <br />As a component of the grant award process, resolutions authorizing the Executive <br />Director of Public Works Agency to execute Restricted Grant Agreements (Exhibit 1) for <br />the project is required. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. Staff will return to Council with a <br />request for approval of further actions and will indicate the fiscal impact of any such <br />awards and associated expenditures at that time. <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
