D. Repair <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />7. Automatic controllers and/or enclosures shall be locked while unattended. Locks are <br />initially supplied by the City, if lost or reckless the Contractor is responsible to replace with <br />same or higher quality locks at their expense. City will replace worn or deteriorating locks. <br />8. All enclosures, including valve, controller, booster pump, etc., shall be kept free of all <br />insects, rodents, and rust. Damage caused by insects, rodents, or rusting shall be <br />repaired within five (5) calendar days at Contractor's expense. <br />9. All drip line valve filters shall be cleaned twice per year in February and November of every <br />year. <br />10. All subsurface apertures shall have permanent lids affixed at all times and shall be kept <br />free of overgrowth. Apertures include valve boxes, controllers, electrical and cable boxes, <br />manholes, and backflow devices. <br />11. Weekly Priority/Sports Turf irrigation audits shall be completed and electronically <br />submitted to CR. <br />12. Should the CR be called upon to diagnose an irrigation problem that is Contractor's <br />responsibility, the City's labor and material costs incurred will be deducted from the <br />monthly payment to the Contractor. <br />13. All irrigation evaluation work requires a notification sign to be present for the duration of <br />the work. <br />14. All sprinkler heads and emitters shall be adjusted to maintain proper coverage to ensure <br />adequate flow. Adjustments shall include, but not be limited to actual adjustments to <br />heads; cleaning and flushing heads, nozzles, lines, and screens; and removal of <br />obstructions. <br />15. All irrigation systems shall be tested and inspected a minimum of one (1) time per calendar <br />year quarter (Jan -Mar, Apr -Jun, Jul -Sep, Oct -Dec), regardless of controller type, and <br />an electronic audit form shall be used to submit the results to CR quarterly by the 10th <br />day of the month following that period (e.g., April 10th, July 10th, October 10th, and <br />January 101). Any requested changes shall be submitted for approval before <br />implementation. <br />a. An exception to the aforementioned is any battery -operated valve, which shall be <br />inspected two (2) times per year. <br />1. Contractor shall continually monitor and perform any necessary repairs from the outflow <br />side of the meter. <br />2. City will provide materials to replace the RCVs and mainlines, see Section 2.6, Materials <br />for the process. <br />3. The Contractor shall be responsible for repairing and replacing all irrigation parts, <br />including but not limited to irrigation rotors/heads, lateral lines, and parts from the <br />downstream side of the irrigation systems remote control valves (RCVs) at no extra cost <br />to the City. Contractor shall make repairs to the satisfaction of the Director's <br />Representative (DR). Contractor shall make repairs within 24 hours of being on notice <br />of deficiencies to the lateral lines and/or rotors/heads. <br />4. Contractor shall contact the CR regarding structural failures after the meter (e.g. <br />RFP 23-151 Landscape Maintenance Services Page 31 of 135 <br />
