<br />6 <br /> <br /> Major Development Highlights <br />The following are three examples of housing developments that were issued permits or <br />are close to being completed in 2023 that address the various housing challenges and <br />needs facing the Santa Ana community: <br /> <br /> <br />»Above: Rendering of southwest corner of <br />building currently under construction. <br />801 E. Santa Ana Blvd. – FX Residences <br />Home Aid Orange County was issued permits in <br />2023 to break ground on a 16-unit affordable <br />housing project for households earning no more <br />than 30 percent of the Area Median Income <br />(AMI). FX Residences will be a home and place <br />of refuge, located in the Lacy Neighborhood of <br />Santa Ana, for residents who are chronically <br />experiencing homelessness. The project will <br />include an indoor-outdoor community space and <br />wrap-around health services such as therapy, <br />case management, addiction counseling, and <br />more provided by Mercy House. <br /> »Above: Rendering of proposed building on <br />Broadway. <br />1411 N. Broadway – WISEPlace <br />WISEPlace was issued permits in March 2023 <br />and officially broke ground on June 15, 2023. <br />The project will create a 43,000-square foot <br />residential community including 48 furnished <br />housing units, each with its own bathroom, <br />shower, and kitchenette, while restoring the <br />current historic building. A total of 47 studio <br />apartments are reserved for individuals earning <br />no more than 30 percent of the Area Median <br />Income (AMI), with one two-bedroom manager’s <br />unit as the 48th unit. The City has provided over <br />$5.2 million in financial support from HOME- <br />ARP funding as well as 25 Project Based <br />Vouchers. The project is expected to be <br />completed at the end of 2024. <br />
