Neighborhood <br />Improvement <br />B. Provide capacity-building support to <br />the Santa Ana Communication Linkage <br />Forum (Com-Link) – the City’s <br />neighborhood associations’ advocacy <br />organization, and the Santa Ana <br />Neighborhood Associations to engage <br />and support residents to involve and <br />emerge as leaders in their <br />neighborhoods. <br />Annually <br />NIES continues to assist Santa Ana Com-Link and Santa Ana Neighborhood <br />Associations with community planning, engagement, resources, and support. In <br />2023, neighborhood associations held neighborhood association meetings in <br />person and had numerous discussions about how to engage new residents and <br />youth in the process. The City is working with the Com-Link Board to provide <br />them with additional capacity-building so that they can help bridge the <br />communication with new and emerging leaders on community engagement <br />strategies and projects that they can integrate into their own neighborhoods, <br />connecting with local school principals, faith-based leaders, businesses, youth <br />and City staff. City staff will be focusing efforts on providing Environmental <br />Justice education and resources to neighborhoods that are within EJ <br />communities / disadvantaged areas. <br />4. Neighborhood <br />Infrastructure <br />A. Complete infrastructure <br />improvements in residential <br />neighborhoods consistent with the <br />City’s Capital Improvement Program <br />(CIP). The CIP is updated every fiscal <br />year and is available to view on the <br />City’s website: The CIP is updated every <br />fiscal year and is available to view on <br />the City’s website: https://www.santa- <br />ana.org/capital-improvement-program. <br />Identify improvements from the City's <br />asset management plans for inclusion in <br />the yearly CIP/budget. <br />Annually & Ongoing <br />In 2023, 119,329 square feet of sidewalk, 8,053 linear feet of curb and gutter, <br />24,327 square feet of driveway approaches, and 11,884 square feet of ADA curb <br />ramps were replaced at 1,168 locations in seven neighborhoods, improving <br />pedestrian accessibility and addressing ADA accessibility. <br />B-87
