A-4 <br /> <br />ELEMENT REF # EJ IMPLEMENTATION ACTION AGENCY TIME <br />FRAME 2023 UPDATE <br />Community 1.3 Yes Collaboration. Develop intentional, <br />strategic partnerships with public, <br />private, and nonprofit entities to <br />improve health outcomes by leveraging <br />capacity, resources, and programs <br />around mutually beneficial initiatives <br />that promote health, equity, and <br />sustainability in neighborhoods within <br />environmental justice area boundaries. <br />Develop a comprehensive partnership <br />policy providing guidelines that can be <br />used throughout the City organization. <br />PBA/PRCSA 2022 - <br />2024 <br />City staff has established partnerships <br />with Orange County Health Care Agency <br />(OCHCA), Orange County EJ (OCEJ), and <br />University of California, Irvine (UCI) to <br />seek out funding/grants to further <br />studies and remediation projects <br />related to lead pollution. <br />Community 1.4 Yes Community coordination on <br />underutilized spaces. Coordinate with <br />community residents, property owners, <br />and other stakeholders to identify <br />vacant and potentially underutilized <br />properties and strategize how such <br />properties could be repurposed into <br />public parks or commercial recreation <br />facilities. <br />PBA/PRCSA 2022 & <br />ongoing <br />Continued discussions with Santa Ana <br />Unified School District (SAUSD) <br />Technical Advisory Committee to <br />evaluate School District owned land to <br />identify possible open space acquisition <br />for park development. Organization- <br />wide Open Space Forum was <br />established in 2023 and the <br />development of an open space matrix <br />which aims to identify and prioritize <br />open space acquisition opportunities <br />that align with EJ communities and Park <br />Master Plan gaps.
