Continue to promote <br />these opportunities and incentives like <br />the City’s Opportunity Zone to the <br />broker and development community to <br />develop into commercial and residential <br />projects beneficial to the sales and <br />property tax base of the City. <br />CDA Ongoing The Economic Development Division <br />continues to monitor and market <br />vacant and on-the-market property for <br />potential redevelopment opportunities. <br />Some of the available properties are <br />subject to the Surplus Land Act, which <br />provides priority to housing developers <br />and/or educational entities; thereafter, <br />the land may be open for bids to the <br />general public. Several vacant <br />properties have been sold for projects <br />that will benefit the community and/or <br />generate jobs and revenue for the <br />community. <br />Economic <br />Prosperity <br />2.1 No Business attraction. Participate in state <br />and national economic development <br />organizations. Attend trade shows and <br />market Santa Ana to high-growth <br />business clusters for Orange County, <br />consistent with the Economic <br />Development Strategic Plan. <br />CDA Ongoing The Economic Development Division <br />continues to market and promote the <br />City by attending the Innovative <br />Commerce Serving Communities <br />Conference in May 2024 <br />Economic <br />Prosperity <br />2.3 No Green business recruitment. Conduct a <br />study to identify the types of green <br />businesses best suited to a Santa Ana <br />business location; market the city to <br />these types of businesses. <br />CDA 2022 Utilizing available incentives from the <br />State Recycling Market Development <br />Zone (RMDZ) program, Economic <br />Development Division staff targets out <br />of city green businesses for potential <br />attraction as their leases come up.
