June 18, 2024 City Council Meeting June 4, 2024 Page 2 Subsequently, on November 21, 2023, City Council approved the calendar of regularly scheduled City Council meetings in 2024, as amended. This approved calendar, in accordance with Resolution No. 2023-047, included a regularly scheduled meeting on June 18, 2024, the third Tuesday of the month. Staff has recently become aware that there is likely to be a lack of quorum on June 18, 2024, which would necessitate the meeting to be canceled, rescheduled, or adjourned to a later date. Section 2(b) of Resolution No. 2023-047 states that "any regular meeting of the Council may be set, canceled, or rescheduled to a different date, time, or location by resolution duly adopted by the affirmative votes of a majority of the City Council or by any other manner as provided by law." Accordingly, Staff recommends Council adopt a resolution either canceling the June 18, 2024 regular meeting or rescheduling the June 18, 2024 regular meeting to a different date to be determined by the Council. A meeting rescheduled in this manner would be considered a regular meeting. The primary item of business that would be on the agenda for June 18, 2024 is the second reading of an ordinance adopting the FY 2024/25 budget, which has been determined could be heard at the next regular City Council meeting scheduled for July 16, 2024. An ordinance cannot be adopted at a special meeting. Staff will make appropriate notifications of the action(s) taken by the City Council.
