The salary steps contained in Exhibit A are <br />monthly salary rates. All officers and employees working in classifications of employment <br />covered by this MOU shall be compensated at a monthly rate, except that an employee <br />hired for temporary work in a position which has an anticipated duration of less than six <br />(6) months shall be paid at a rate per hour for actual time spent in the performance of the <br />duties of their employment. An employee's base rate of pay, which is also known as their <br />hourly rate of pay is computed by taking their monthly rate of pay and dividing it by one <br />hundred seventy-three and thirty-three hundredths (173.33). In determining the hourly rate <br />as herein provided, computation shall be made to the nearest whole cent and a computation <br />resulting in exactly one-half cent or higher shall fix the rate at the next higher whole cent. <br />9 <br />
