RESUMES

Mark W. Bush, P.E.
Design Engineer

Education:

University of California, lrvine
B.S. Civil Engineering, 1997
B.S. Environmental
Engineering, 1997

Registration:

Registered Civil Engineer
California No. 60477

Professional Affiliations:

American Society of Civil
Engineers

American Water Works
Association

Orange County Water
Association

Mr. Bush is experienced in analysis and design of water and reclaimed
water pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs. He has also been
responsible for completing the design of wastewater collection systems
and lift stations.

Summary of Rehtted Experience

· John Garthe Reservoir Improvements, Phase II, City of Santa
Ana- The Phase II improvements include the demolition of a 5
M.G. gunite reservoir, buildings and a pump station and the
construction of two new 5 M.G. circular prestressed concrete
reservoirs, drilling and equipping of Well No. 39, a new potable
well (1350 feet deep), installation of 3 sodium hypochlorite
disinfection facilities and site landscaping improvements.
· Talega Domestic and Non-Domestic Reservoirs - Project
Engineer for this project which consists of a 6 MG domestic water
reservoir, a 4 MG nondomestic water reservoir and associated
pipeline, valving, electrical and instrumentation to serve the
southerly portion of the Talega Valley. The domestic reservoir will
be a partially buried pre-stressed concrete reservoir on a hillside
graded by the Developer. The nondomestic reservoir will be an
aboveground steel reservoir located on the same site.
· Ladera Ranch Reservoir, Santa Margarita Water District -
Project Engineer for engineering design and construction support
services for the construction of a 4 MG partially buried prestressed
concrete reservoir. Included in the design is a 24-inch diameter
domestic and nondomestic inlet-out with transmission main,
overflow/storm drain pipeline facilities, a paved access road,
electrical service and site improvements.
· Zone 4 and 6 Reservoirs Artificial Circulation Evaluation,
Irvine Ranch Water District -- Project Engineer for the
evaluation of inducing artificial circulation or mixing of stored
water in an attempt to increase water quality in the system. Baffles,
submersible mixers and alternative operational scenarios were
evaluated with cost estimates and present worth analyses used to
quantify the costs and benefits. In addition, computer modeling
using computational fluid dynamics of the preferred mixing
alternatives were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the
alternatives to support recommendations for the improvements.
· Zone 1, 4, and 8 Reservoirs Preliminary Seismic Analysis,
Irvine Ranch Water District - Design Engineer for the analysis of
existing conditions and recommended improvements for
inlet/outlet, drain and overflow piping.
· Moulton Peak Reclaimed Water Steel Tank Reservoir, Moulton
Niguel Water District - Project Engineer for a 1.5 million gallon
steel tank on Moulton Peak. Project included site concems due to
viexvshed and physical site restrictions.

ASL Consultln~l En~lJneers

City of Santa Aha
ELEVATED WATER TANK IMPROVEMENTS 12
