Mr. Dowling Tsai
January 10, 2003
Page 4

8. St. Andrews Place
9. St. Gertrude Place
10. Dyer Road
11. Alton Avenue
12. Columbine Street

5. Tustin Avenue Signal Coordination

This project involves collecting turning movement counts at critical intersections; collecting
other field data, such as lane geometrics, link speeds and distances; obtaining existing signal
timing from the City's signal system; and developing, implementing and fine-tuning
coordination timing for a total of five signals on Tustin Avenue.

Coordination timings wilt be developed for the intersections of Tustin Avenue at:

1. 17th Street
2. Tustin Center
3. Wellington/Western Medical Center
4. Fruit Street
5. 4st Street

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The overall project scope of services will be similar to the citywide timing that we recently
completed for the City. AGA will be responsible for developing, implementing and fine-
tuning the a.m., midday and the p.m. timing plans at all the project intersections. The scope of
services applicable to the above five projects is detailed below.

The services to be provided by AGA include the following:

For all project roadways/intersections for which new timing plans will be developed, AGA
will:

Collect field data in sufficient quantity to identify existing deficiencies, existing
system capabilities and operations. Data collected ~vill include existing traffic signal
timing and phasing for each project intersection; intersection geometrics, including
number of lanes and usage of each lane; and distance between signalized intersections.

· Field measure existing link speeds and saturation flow rates.

Collect additional turning movement counts at all project intersections to supplement
available counts, and collect other data to adequhfely establish traffic floxv patterns for
the preparation of traffic signal timing plans.
