Section 6394.3. Same. Special Regulations and Prohibitions. <br /> <br />Any person operating an ambulance shall submit his <br />ambulance to the Chief of Police, or his designated <br />agent, at the Police Station, for a complete in- <br />spection or reexamination of said physical equipment, <br />within 48 hours after requested to do so, and the <br />Chief of Police shall have the authority to ~equest <br />such an inspection either for good cause, or on a <br />reasonable belief that any of the provisions of the <br />Code have been violated or that a revocation of the <br />permit should be imposed. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Ambulance service shall be available at all times by <br />radio or telephone call. It shall be unlawful for <br />any ambulance co~pany, operator, driver, or assist- <br />ant to fail to render service, insofar as he is able, <br />immediately upon request, or at an appointed time, <br />when such service is required and concerns the safety <br />or health of the person or persons requiring service. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Every ambulance operator and driver, upon receipt of <br />a call, shall state to the persc~ calling whether or <br />not a~ ambulance is immediately available m~d unoccup- <br />ied; if none be so immediately available, such fact <br />shall be reported to the person calling. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />No ambulance operator or driver shall go to the <br />scene of any accident unless ~ ecifically requested <br />so to do by some person, or by the Police Department. <br />Each such ambulance operator receiving a telephone <br />call from some source other than the Police Depart- <br />me~t shall immediately notify the Police Department, <br />giving details as to time of call a~d place <br />nature of accident, and shall not proceed to said <br />accident scene unless dispatched thereto by the <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Every person operating or driving m ambulmace in <br />the City shall keep an accurate record of every call <br />responded to, the time the call was received, the <br />place of pickup and destination, and the time of <br />arrival at each. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br /> Every person holding an ambulance permit shall sub- <br />mit to the City Council his rate schedule, and the <br />same shall be readily available for inspection by <br />any person, and such ambulance operator shall make <br />all of his charges in accordance with his rate sched- <br />ule until a new and different rate schedule has been <br />filed with the City Council. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall tmke effect thirty days after <br /> <br />the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />PA~SED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa And <br /> <br />at its regular meeting held on the <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />19th <br /> <br />day~_ MaY ~ 1958. <br /> <br /> <br />
