ORDINANCE NO. NS-365 A~IENDING PART 3 OF CHAPTER 3 <br />OF ARTICLE VI OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />REGULATING POOL HALLS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF TITE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Part 3 of Chapter 3 of Article VI of the <br /> <br />Santa Aha Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Part 3 ~- Pool and Billiard Halls <br /> <br />Section 6330. Regulations. <br /> For the regulation and proper supervision of all busi- <br />nesses where ga~es of billiards, pool or bagatelle are <br />conducted for profit, the same shall be carried on in a <br />single room without partition, anti-rooms or closet rooms, <br />other than water closets or lavatories and entirely inac- <br /> <br />cessible from any other room, cellar or attic, provided, <br />however, that the main e~rance or vestibule from the <br />public street shall have glass panel doors. The same to <br />be at all times clean, unglazed and unobstructed so that <br />all parts of said room will be open to view. <br /> <br />Section 6331. Application for permit. <br /> Any person desiring to engage in any business where games <br />of billiards, pool or bagatelle are conducted for profit <br />shall first make application in writing to the Council, <br />which shall have the sole power and authority to grant a <br />permit to engage in said business. The Council shall have <br />full power to grant or reject said pe~ntt and, after in- <br />vestigation if it shall appear to the Council that said <br />person is a proper person and suitable, that the l~ation <br />and arrangement of the proposed place where said business <br />is to be conducted is satisfactory, the Council shall grant <br />said permit, otherwise it shall reject and deny the same. <br /> <br />Section 6332. Right to Control. <br /> The Council, in granting a permit or license for the <br />carrying on of said business, reserves the right at all <br />times to determine where said games may or shall be carried <br />on and the character and nature of the building, its <br />surroundings and arrangement and constr~ction and its <br />accessibility and suitability for the purpose of the con- <br />duct of said business. The character, reputation and <br />liability of the person conducting said business and of <br />his employees shall be considered. <br /> <br />Section 6333. Entrance Kept Open. <br /> The entrance to and into said rooms, at all times dur- <br />ing business hours, shall be open and unobst~.cted to all <br />peace officers and to all members of the public other <br />than minors under the age of 18 years. <br /> <br />Section 6334- Certain Games Prohibited. <br /> No games of cards, dice or other games of chance shall <br />be carried on in any room in which any of the above busi- <br />nesses shall be conducted or in any room accessible <br />therefrom. <br /> <br />Section 6335. Minors. <br /> No person under the age of eighteen years shall visit, <br />enter, engage in any ws~ or loiter in or about any room <br />where the aforesaid gaines are being conducted. <br /> <br /> <br />
