SECTION 9230.260. C-5 (Arterial Commercial District). <br /> <br />SECTION 9230.261. Uses Permitted. <br /> <br /> (a) Administrative and professional offices. <br /> (b) Any wholly retail stere, trade or service but excluding nurseries, <br />sheet metal shops, body-fender works, automobile paint shop, repair garages, and <br />any activity which includes the processing, treatment, manufacturing, assembling, <br />or compounding of any product other than that which is clearly and traditionally <br />incidental and essential to a particular retail activity. <br /> (c) Other retail or service uses including but not l~mAted to the following: <br /> (1) Automobile parking lots and service stations but excluding the sale <br /> or storage of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, tractors, both <br /> new or used. <br /> (2) Buildings of public assemblage limited to churches, chapels, <br /> mortuaries and theaters. <br /> (3) Clubs, fraternal organizations and unions. <br /> (4) Hospitals, clinics, sanitariums, excluding animal hospitals. <br /> (5) ~otels and hotels. <br /> (6) ~iniature golf courses but excluding all other outdoor recreational <br /> facilities including carnivals and circuses. <br /> (7) Public buildings and public utility structures including electric <br /> distribution and transmissions substations. <br /> (8) Restaurants, cafes, cocktail lounges and drive-in eating <br /> establishments. <br /> (9) Schools and studios operated for commercial and public purposes. <br /> (10) Dwelling units when erected above the ground floor of a <br /> com~ercial structure when the ground floor is devoted exclusively <br /> to non-residential use. <br /> (11) Rest homes, convalescent homes, and da~ nurseries. <br /> (12) Signs permitted in the C-1 District. <br /> (d) Structural alterations and additions m~y be made to existing residential <br />uses provided that such alterations and additions will in no way increase the <br />number of dwelling units contained on the lot. <br /> <br />SECTION 9230.262. Operational Standards. <br /> <br /> (a) Any activity permitted in this District shall be conducted within an <br />enclosed building excepting the pump islands of a service station, the parking of <br />motor vehicles, the display of signs, miniature golf courses, electric distri- <br />bution and transmission substations, ami drive-in eating establishment operations. <br /> (b) Ail storage shall be within an enclosed building and shall be ltm~ted to <br />the accessory storage of supplies utilized in the business conducted upon the <br />premises. <br /> (c) ~here property within this District is to be used for professional or <br />commercial purposes and has a lot line in common with ar~ lot in a residential <br />District there shall be erected a solid masonry wall not less than five (5) feet <br />high along all such common lines. Where a wal 1 of such height is prohibited <br />by this Chapter or any other Ordinance the wall shall be the maximum allowable <br />height. Further. , where an alley separates property in this District from <br />property in a residential District said block wall shall be erected along the <br />property line abutting the alley except at points of ingress to the parking area. <br /> (d) Development plans, drawn to a standard scale, shall be submitted to the <br />Planning Department in duplicate and shall '~ndicate: <br /> (1) Lot or site size and peripheral properties sufficient to show <br /> location. <br /> (2) Building placement, and gross floor area devoted to each separate <br /> unit. <br /> (3) Off-street parking facilities including vehicular circulation. <br /> (4) Means of access to public ri~hts-of-way. <br /> (5) Landscaping. <br /> (6) V~ere two or more separate lots of ownership are involved in said <br /> development plan, said plan shall be signed by the property owners <br /> involved in such proposed development. <br /> (e) Ail plans s~,~mitted to the Planning Department shall be approved, <br />conditionally approved or denied by the Planning Department. The decision of the <br />Planning Department may be appealed to the Planning Commlssion and then to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
