necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliveries <br />of goods, wares and merchandise, from or to any building or <br />structure located on such restricted streets, or for the <br />purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual <br />and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction <br />of any building or structure upon such restricted streets, <br />for which a building permit has been previously obtained. <br />The provisions of this Section shall not apply to a passenger <br />bus under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, <br />or owned by a bus company licensed by the City, or to any <br />vehicle owned by a Public Utility while necessarily in use <br />in the construction, installation or repair of any public <br />utility, or any vehicle owned by the City while necessarily <br />in use in the construction, installation or repair of a City <br />utility or street. The Director of Public Works may erect <br />and maintain appropriate signs on those streets affected by <br />this Section where he deems the same to be necessary. <br /> <br />SECTION 3272. One-Way Streets. <br /> <br /> The City Council does establish a system of one-way <br />streets within the City, as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Third Street, between French and Flower - Westbound <br />(b) Fifth Street, between French and Flower - Eastbound <br />(c) Bush Street, between First and Seventeenth - Southbound <br />(d) Cypress Street, between First and Bishop - Southbound <br />(e) Seventh Street, between Main and Sycamore - Westbound <br />(f) Tenth Street, between Bush and Main Streets - Westbound <br /> <br />SECTION 3272.1. Same. One-Way Siqns to be Placed. <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works shall place and maintain <br />appropriate signs giving notice of the one-way street system, <br />and no such regulations shall be effective until such signs <br />are in place. <br /> <br />SECTION 3272.2. ~me. One-Way Travel Only. <br /> <br /> No person shall operate a vehicle in violation of the <br />signs designating one-way streets, as herein provided. <br /> <br />SECTION 3273. One-Way Alleys. <br /> <br /> No person shall operate any vehicle in a Southerly or <br />in an Easterly direction in any alley connecting two or more <br />streets in, or terminating in, Central Parking Districts "A" <br />or "B". <br /> <br />Part 8 - Special Speed Zones <br /> <br />SECTION 3280. Speed Zones Declared. <br /> <br /> It is hereby determined, upon the basis of an engineering <br />and traffic investigation, that the speed permitted by the <br />Vehicle Code upon the following streets is not in conformance <br />with the safe and efficient operation of vehicles thereon, <br />and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limits <br />shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets,or parts <br />of streets, herein designated when signs are erected giving <br />notice thereof: <br /> <br />-15- <br /> <br /> <br />
