SECTION 8310. Branch Circuits. <br /> Section 210r22 is h~reby amended by adding subsections (c) and <br /> (d) to read as follows: <br /> (c) Minimum Wire Size. For the supply of current to general <br /> appliance and convenience receptacle circuits no conductor <br /> smaller than No. 12 A.W.G. shall be installed. No convenience <br /> receptacle or appliance receptacle shall be installed or <br /> operated on a general lighting branch circuit at any time in <br /> any occupancy except as provided in Section 210-26(b). <br /> <br /> (d) At least one convenience receptacle shall be installed in <br /> rooms containing one or more wash basins or lavatories. <br /> <br />SECTION 8311. Branch Circuits. <br /> <br /> Section 210-24(a) is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> (a) 20-Ampere Branch Circuits. Convenience or Appliance. <br /> The rating of any one portable appliance shall not exceed 80% of <br /> the branch circuit rating. The total rating of all fixed appli- <br /> ances shall not exceed 50% of the branch circuit rating when <br /> portable appliances are also supplied. <br /> <br />SECTION 8312. Branch Circuits. <br /> Article 210 is hereby amended by adding a new Section 210-26 to <br />read as follows: <br /> 210-26. Lighting Outlets. <br /> (a) Each single family dwelling and each occupancy of a multi- <br /> family dwelling shall have not less than one 15 ampere general <br /> lighting branch circuit with a mazimum of 12 lighting outlets <br /> per circuit installed, minimum wire size shall be No. 14 A.W.G. <br /> (b) Every room shall have at least one switched general <br /> lighting outlet. Living rooms, bedrooms, family rooms and dens <br /> may be excepted, provided at least one switched wall receptacle <br /> is installed and supplied by a lighting branch circuit. <br /> (c) Entrance doorways providing access to the premises from <br /> the exterior shall be provided with exterior illumination <br /> suitably located. The illuminating source shall be controlled <br /> by an interior switch conveniently located near the doorway. <br /> NOTE: The intent of the above is not to provide a light and <br /> switch at every door, but only to provide adequate <br /> illumination for normal egress and ingress at doors. <br /> (d) Each single family dwelling and each occupancy of a mult~ <br /> family dwelling shall have at least one 20 ampere convenience <br /> receptacle circuit supplying current to receptacles with a <br /> maximum of 12 convenience receptacles per circuit. <br /> <br />SECTION 8313. Feeders. <br /> Section 215-2 is hereby amended by changing "No. 6" in the <br />eighth line to "No. 1". <br /> <br />SECTION 8314. ~ervices. <br /> Section 230-1 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 230-1. Scope. The provisions of this Article shall apply to the <br /> conductors and equipment for control and protection of services <br /> - circuits that conduct electric power from the supply system or <br /> plant to the premises to be served. Regardless of the require- <br /> ments of other sections of this Code the minimum size of conduit, <br /> conductors,switch or circuit breakers for services shall not be <br /> less than the following: <br /> (a) Commercial and store buildings A to G inclusive, 100 <br /> square feet and over.
