(b) Single family dwellings, under 800 square feet. The <br />minimum service requirements for single family dwellings under <br />800 square feet shall be: <br /> Conduit ....... 1" trade size <br /> Conductors ...... 3 No. 6 A.W.G. <br /> Switch ....... 60 ampere <br /> Circuit breaker - 50 ampere <br />Provisions shall be made in the service panel for a minimum of <br />10 single pole over-current protective devices in addition to <br />the main switch or circuit breaker. <br /> <br /> (c) Single family dwellings, 800 square feet and over. The <br />minimum service requirements for single family dwellings, 800 <br />square feet and Over shall be: <br /> Conduit ....... 1½" trade size <br /> Conductors ...... 3 No. 1 A.W.G. <br /> Switch ....... 100 ampere <br /> Circuit breaker - 100 ampere <br />Provisions shall be made in the service panel for a minimum of <br />20 single pole over-current protective devices in addition to <br />the main switch or circuit breaker. <br /> (d) Duplex dwelling I occupancy. The minimum service for each individual occupancy <br /> shall <br /> Conduit ....... 1" trade size <br /> Conductors ...... 3 No. 6 A.W.G. <br /> Switches ....... 60 Ampere <br /> Circuit breaker - 50 ampere <br /> 3. Service entrance conductors shall have a current <br /> carrying capacity sufficient to carry the load. The <br /> branch circuit protective devices shall be located in <br /> and for each occupancy. <br /> (e) Multi-family dwelling H Occupancy. For multi-family <br />dwelling H Occupancy: <br /> 1. The minimum service requirements for combined unit <br /> occupancy load shall be: <br /> Conduit ....... 1½" trade size <br /> Conductors ...... 3 No. 1 A.W.G. <br /> 2. The minimum feeder or sub-feeder for each individual <br /> occupancy shall be: <br /> Raceway ....... 3/4" trade size <br /> Conductors ...... 3 No. 8 A.W.G. <br /> Switches ....... 60 ampere <br /> Circuit breaker - 40 ampere <br /> 3. Service entrance conductors shall have a current <br /> carrying capacity sufficient to carry the load and in <br /> no case smaller than 1 A.W.G. Branch circuit protec- <br /> tive devices shall be located in and for each multi- <br /> family occupancy with kitchen facilities for cooking. <br /> (f) Rough Inspection. Service shall be complete at the time <br />of rough inspection. <br /> <br />SECTION 8315. Services. <br /> Section 230-44 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 230-44. Method of Installation of Service. Every service shall <br /> be installed in galvanized, sheradized or equal rigid metal <br /> conduit and in accordance with the provisions of this Code, and <br /> all service equipment conduits and fittings installed on the <br /> exterior of any building shall be listed and approved by a <br /> recognized testing laboratory as rain-tight. (Service-entrance <br /> conductors should not be run within the hollow spaces of frame <br /> buildings unless provided with overcurrent protection at their <br /> outer end.) <br /> <br />-17- <br /> <br /> <br />
