SECTION 8326. Flexible Metal Conduit. <br /> Section 350-2 is amended to read as follows: <br /> 350-2. Use. Flexible metal conduit shall not be used (1) in wet <br /> locations, unless conductors are of the lead-covered type or of <br /> other type specially approved for the conditions; (2) in hoist- <br /> ways, except as provided in Section 620-21; (3) in storage <br /> battery rooms; (4) in any hazardous location, except as <br /> permitted in Sections 501-4(b), 502-4, and 503-3; (5) where <br /> rubber-covered conductors are exposed to oil, gasoline, or other <br /> materials having a deteriorating effect on rubber; (6) where <br /> embedded in masonry, concrete, adobe, plaster, or similar <br /> finish; nor (7) where exposed to mechanical injury. <br /> <br />SECTION 8327. Liqhtinq Fixtures, Lampholders, etc, <br /> Section 410-8 is amended by adding a new subsection (c) to <br />read as follows: <br /> (c) Ail closets provided with lighting outlets shall have <br /> said outlet operated by a wall or door switch (no pull chain <br /> lighting fixtures permitted) and the lighting outlet shall be <br /> located so as not to be within 12 inches horizontally from or <br /> directly over any shelving. <br /> <br />SECTION 8328. Liqhtin~ Fixtures, Lampholders, etc. <br /> Section 410-29 is amended by adding a new subsection (c) to <br />read as follows: <br /> (c) No such equipment shall be installed in which the <br /> power factor is less than 90%. <br /> <br />SECTION 8329. A~liances. <br /> <br /> Section 422-2 is amended to read as follows: <br /> 422-2. Branch Circuit Requirements. Every appliance shall be <br /> supplied by a branch circuit of one of the types specified in <br /> Article 210. Motor-operated appliances shall also conform to <br /> the requirements of Article 430. Fixed appliances, such as <br /> food grinders, dishwashers, washingmachlnes, dryers, laundry <br /> tray locations, built-in refrigerators, built-in freezers, <br /> furnaces, air conditioners, built-in heaters, or any other <br /> fixed appliance with motors 1/4 H.P. or larger shall be on a <br /> separate branch circuit supplied by No. 12 A.W.G. wire. Each <br /> single family dwelling and each occupancy of a multi-family <br /> dwelling shall have installed therein an individual food waste <br /> grinder branch circuit. Said circuit shall be supplied with a <br /> minimum No. 12 A.W.G. wire and a 15 ampere indicating type <br /> switch. Said switch shall be located in the wall adjacent to <br /> the sink. Food waste grinder shall be wired with a minimum of <br /> No. 16 A.W.G. 3-wire S.P.T.-3, thermoplastic hard finish cord <br /> or equal and an approved grounding type cord grip cap must be <br /> used. <br /> <br />SECTION 8330. Appliances. <br /> Section 422-40 is amended by adding a new subsection (e) to <br />read as follows: <br /> (e) Approved recessed ceiling heaters using not more than <br /> one (1) 250 watt infrared lamp may be installed on alighting <br /> branch circuit by reducing the allowable number of lighting <br /> outlets by two (2) for each single lamp device used. However, <br /> not more than two (2) such devices shall be connected to any <br /> one (1) lighting branch circuit. Any number of multiple lamp <br /> and single lamp heaters, the total wattage not exceeding 1500 <br /> watts or the total number of 250 watt lamps not exceeding six <br /> (6), may be connected to a separate 20 ampere branch circuit. <br /> <br />-20- <br /> <br /> <br />
